Best Free Open Source Apps on Android - Unique Imagination

Hey welcome back to our new blog In this blog I will tell you guys Free and best open source apps for your android phone I bet you are tried of paying the subscriptions of the apps with are not free also they are not the open source, so I promise you that all the apps that will be open source that means you can find there sources code on the github and also the apps are totally free not to have pay any penny. so here is the first apps comes,

Open source apps on Android Phones

Birthday

birthday app
Birday - Birthday manager

let's be honest here we've all forgotten our friends or family members’ birthdays at least once and then we feel bad because we didn't give him a present or even wish him a happy birthday. let's stop that with an open source app called a Birthday you can easily keep track of any birthday and get notified a few days before to prepare a gift in time I even love that it includes a countdown of every upcoming birthday something that google calendar can't do for you and you can keep track of other important events like anniversaries death anniversaries etc.

link - Birday - Birthday manager

Best before it

best before app
best before - food tracker

And Now the next app is kind of a similar of the previous app but there is twist that is forgetting about specific food in the fridge and having them accidentally expire so sometime this is annoyance some foods like fruits or vegetables don't even have an expiration date so you'll need to guess whether they're still edible in a few weeks so a good way to make sure you eat all your food on time so i suggest you to give a once a try of using an open source app called best before it.

lets me input the food I bought along with the purchase and expiration dates then it'll notify me a few days before it expires so that I can eat it and it doesn't go to waste it even shows me a countdown next to each item honestly it saved me a lot of money also it doesn't cost a time to install so why not and that's just a sneak peek at some of the best free open source apps that I have told.

if you're not sure what open source means it just refers to apps that have their source code out on the web for anyone to see they have nothing to hide making them safer to use than most closed store stops out there

why to download f-droid on android for open source ?

I always encourage anyone to choose an open source app over anything else because transparency is such a huge key factor in security. if you're looking to download only open source apps f-droid is the ultimate app store to find the majority of them because it only allows for free open source apps and that's where I got a lot of the ones that I'm showing off in this anyways it's no secret that almost every app out there has trackers within them but some have more than others and even collect data that isn't necessary it's scary stuff and since I'm constantly downloading apps I needed to find something that could let me track down and control all those hidden trackers.

download - F-driod app (official website)

Tc slim

Tc slim
Tc slim

So I founded an app that's when I came across Tc slim this lets me run a vpn that constantly monitors every app running in the background so every time one of my apps contacts a company tc slim records its and lets me see the trackers that they were using whether they were essential and where the data was sent on a map then I can take action by stopping the app's internet access and even requesting data deletion by emailing the developer on top of all the trackers many apps compiled with intrusive ads especially a ton of free games luckily there are plenty of ways to block ads on android.

link - Tc slim

RethinkDNS

rethink dns
RethinkDNS

so our next app on the list is related to vpn dns or ads blocking ,

I would check out rethink DNS this app uses a VPN to stop every outgoing connection to ads or trackers and it even comes with a firewall to let me block any apps from accessing the internet not a lot of ad blockers come with this I also love that I can choose any DNS server of my choice or choose from a library of block lists it's completely free to use open source and doesn't require roots, of course, there are other great options out there like Adaway or blockcata

Link - RethinkDNS

Bromide

Bromide
Bromite

But I just found rethink DNS to be the best option for me now believe it or not chrome itself is not totally open source it's based on a project called chromium which is open source so if you want a solid open source chrome alternative that includes a few extra features like ad blocking check out Bromide. it's also based on chromium so it looks just like chrome but it removes all the clutter so no more annoying group tabs unnecessary article spams when opening up a new tab and a few extra options within the settings,

for example, you can have links always open in incognito mode have the history be recorded while you're in incognito mode and even close all tabs on exit, not a bad option if you're looking to declutter chrome.

link - Bromide  , Source code

so here is next app ,

Simple Login

simple login
Simple login

whenever a site app or merchant asks for your email address never and I mean never give them your personal one because I promise you the more you give it away the more likely you'll get spammed instead use simple login a free open source app that lets you create fake email addresses that forward any emails that you've signed up for to your actual inbox because the day that you want to stop receiving emails from those companies you've signed up for you can simply turn off the switch and stop the spam protecting your password is just as important as protecting your personal email.

link - Simple login

Bitwarden

Bitwarden
Bitwarden

so now I think you all know where I'm going with this password manager it's by far the best way to not get hacked and keep your personal account safe as I already written in the medium blog  once time so I again recommending an excellent open source option is Bitwarden it doesn't have any crazy features that make it stand out from the competition but it is very light simple and straightforward it has autofill a password generator checks for password breaches and works across all platforms oh yeah and it's free.

Antenna pod

Antenna pod

Are your love to listening podcast and tried of ads and if you're paying for a service just to listen to podcasts you may be throwing away your money because with antenna pod you can listen to those same podcasts for free you don't need to sign up for anything watch any ads or pay a single time for any podcast you search up on this app will most likely be there and you can stream or download any of the episodes.

Geometric Weather app

Geometric weather app
Geometric weather

I rarely talk about weather apps because a lot of phones already come with one still that's not to say that they're amazing because a lot of them look outdated and lack the information plus they're not open source so my go-to has always been geometric whether it's free to open source and it kind of reminds me of the old one plus weather app with the beautifully animated weather in the background and all.

With the weather info down below I can switch between cities by swiping left or right and I love that I can change the weather source within the settings I wouldn't say it's the most feature-packed option out there but it's still powerful and gets the job done.

link - Geometric weather app

last but not the least so here is the last open source app

Dark mode live wallpaper

dark mode live wallpaper
Dark mode live wallpaper

The dark mode on android is pretty much set in stone but one feature that I've always wanted is for the wallpaper to also follow the system dark theme dark mode live wallpaper solved this for me it automatically makes the background darker when I switch to the dark mode and lightens it up when I go back to light but here's where the real game changer is I can even set a different image for the light and dark theme so during the day I can have a fun bright colorful background while at night I can have an relaxing wall pretty sweet

If you wish you can read the my another website blog - Mr Parui Web

3 Best Camera App for Android | download best paid apps

3 Best Camera App for Android | download paid apps for free

3 Best Camera App for Android

This is a complete round up of the best camera apps for Android right now in 2020.  After testing them all out, I'm gonna share my top recommendation, the number one Android app that I’m using right now, and why, and all the links  to all app is already  mention  in this article , you can find links in the  download  section or click the image of the particular app.

So, let's jump into it.  Now, these days with a quick app install, you can instantly unlock a ton of advanced functionality, to take you results even further when you're creating videos with your Android phone or tablet.

3 Best Camera App for Android | download paid apps for free

But there are a lot of apps out there to choose from, and they're certainly not all made equal. we're gonna take a look at the best camera apps right now, and then get to my choice for the number one after putting all of them through their places.

And as we're going through, scroll down and let me know in the comments, what camera app are you using right now, and what's your favorite feature.

So, as I've said, there's a lot of options out there, so I'm going to skip those that aren't worth your time, and jump straight into our shortlist of the top options.

Now each of them has advantages and disadvantages, including different features, different levels of complexity, and obviously different pricing models as well. So, make sure you read this article carefully, as we run through each one to make sure you’re ending up with the best fit for you.

Now I just want to add  in here really quickly,  that each one of these  camera apps that we're  going to cover will let you unlock  professional camera-like settings  on your Android device, so you're able  to have the most amount of control,  and functionality in  features out of your device.

So, we're not going to mention these things as I did into Previous of the apps, we’re only going to look at what's different between them, not all of the commonalities.

So, across the board your gonna has access to features like shutter speed, like ISO, in some cases aperture, depending on which camera you’re using, or which phone you're using, and also resolution, frame rate, and bit rate control as well.  And I also want to add that some of these features may not be available to your specific device.

Given the massive amount  of Android devices,  some of these features  are only available to  some devices, in most  cases the newer ones,  so if you do have an older Android device,  then maybe expect that  there could be some features  missing when you install  the app on your device.

The first app in our shortlist is “Open Camera”.

open camera download

download open camera

Now this is one that we've been using and recommending for years, But Open Camera is an  amazing camera app, and it  actually has probably the  most amount of settings  and control out of any  of the apps that we're  gonna mention, or pretty  much any of the camera  apps that are available on Android.

The overall interface of the app is definitely not as nice as some of the other apps that we're going to mention soon, but it is clean enough that you quickly find what you're looking for on the main dashboard page.Once you get into the settings, however, that’s where there is just pages and pages of settings and things that you can customize up and tailor up.

download open camera

You can even customize up the main dashboard, the main GUI, and turn on or off settings that you may or may not be using, or don't want to have access to from that front page.

So even just quickly diving  into the first page of the  settings, you can see  that we've got more camera  controls, camera preview, on screen GUI,  photo settings, video  settings, location settings,  processing settings,  and if we open up video  settings, there is just a  ton of settings in here.

download open camera

Everything from your video resolution,  down to enabling a  flat, or a log, profile,  specifying the maximum  duration of the video,  what you want to app to do after you hit  that maximum duration,  if you've got one set,  and this is just one page of settings.

Now even though the main  screen is pretty basic,  and not as pretty as  some of the other ones  that we're going to mention,  I do like that you have quick  access to things like the  video resolution, like  your exposure, your  ISO, your shutter speed,  all from that front page,  so that you don't need to  go and drive in and get  lost in all the settings.  Now in regards to pricing, this app is free.

It is open source software, hence the name Open Camera.  It's totally free, so it’s ridiculous that you get access to all of this on your Android device, for nothing.  So, I would say Open Camera is going to be great for someone, whether you’re an absolute beginner, right through to advanced, but probably more so the intermediate to advanced person.

Someone that is looking for all those advance features, and advanced controls, and really wants to customize everything up, and tweak and adjust everything, then this is where Open Camera is probably going to be suited to.

I would be a little weary if  you're an absolute beginner,  because of the amount of  settings and controls,  and everything in there, I think you could  definitely get overwhelmed  with all of that  stuff in there, and not having a really  intuitive interface on the main screen,  may make it a little  complicated and a little  overwhelming.

Download From Playstore

But, overall, it's ridiculous what you get access to, for free, in this app.

ALSO READ[5 BEST CAMERA APP FOR ANDROID]

And that brings us to camera app number two, which is

 “Manual Camera.

Manual camera mod apk download

manual camera pro mod apk download

Now this one in my opinion, has a much nicer interface, it’s much more intuitive, it’s much easier to find everything and to get up to speed, creating your videos in this app.

It still packs in an  absolute ton of features, and  a ton of settings, but  what I like about this one,  is you can go to that settings area,  and scroll through,  you're not diving through  sub menus and sub menus  just to find things,  and there's not an overwhelming  amount of settings,  but with everything in there you can  quickly find what you need  or what you have access to,  and then jump back to  creating your videos.

manual camera pro mod apk download

So again there's a lot of things in here,  like showing a histogram,  this focus peaking,  you've got all of your  video bit-rate controls,  and frame rate settings,  your audio source,  your audio channels, so  you see you still got  quite a lot of options in here.  If you want to be able to manually control things, like ISO, the shutter speed, and the focus, then you will need to enable that in the menu, then you'll have access to those on the front screen.

manual camera pro mod apk download
Now just like with Open Camera I like that, they’ve got quick access to things like, the exposure, and the focus, right from that main screen dashboard, without needing to go into the menus to control everything.

I really like the way that they've done the exposure settings in particular, it’s really quick just to tap on that exposure button, to select your ISO, and your shutter speed, really quickly.

I also really like how you can switch between the different focus modes, from auto focus to continuous auto focus, to manual focus, again just with a couple of quick taps on the screen.

One thing I don't think is as good in this app though, is the tap on an object, or tap on your screen to adjust the brightness or the focus and to lock it at that point.

You can obviously lock down your focus and exposure, but it's not as quick as the next app that we’re going to be covering.  Now there is decent control over the white balance and locking that down either with a present, or by manually adjusting the kelvin slider to dial it in manually.

There are also some different affects, or different looks, that you can apply, but really these are pretty basic and they don't give you a great amount of control over what your shot is going to look like in this app.

manual camera pro mod apk download

Now in regards to pricing,  there's a free version  of this app, it does have some limitations  around it; you can only  record for up to five minutes,  there's limitations around  the recording quality,  or the resolution you can record at,  and there's also ads in  the free version as well. So, what I would recommend is that your purchase the app to kind of remove all of those restrictions, and remove all of those ads, and it’s only going to cost you four dollars, ninety-nine.

So, I think Manual Camera is an amazing camera app, I think it's going to be really easy for someone who is an absolute beginner to jump into this, right through to a professional wanting to lock everything down and control everything, and tweak and adjust everything.

Download From Playstore

Its gonna be perfect no matter where you are across the board. I think at that price point too, it makes a really compelling offer considering what you can do in the app.

And that brings up to our third app on our shortlist, which is “Filmic Pro”.

filmic pro apk download

filmic pro apk free download full version

Now this one is really the OG when it comes to manual camera apps, or advanced camera apps, for IOS and for Android.  I would say Filmic Pro is hands down the most professional camera app on Android right now, given the pro features and the pro tools that they have in there.

It does have an easy to use and intuitive interface, I’d say it's probably not quite intuitive as the Manual Camera app, but it's still really quick to find everything, and it would be really easy for someone to get up to speed using this app.

Now in terms of the amount of settings  and features and everything  in this app, it definitely  doesn't have as many as  Open Camera, I'd say  it's probably a little  less than what you have in Manual Camera,  but the settings and  everything you have in  Filmic Pro are definitely  aimed more at the  pro-level user, as I said.

filmic pro apk free download full version

One of the stand out things with Filmic Pro that none of the other apps we’ve mentioned come close to, is the amount of hardware support that you have in this app.

Hardware support for things like gimbals, like the DJI OSMO mobile, or the Zhuyin smooth four, and things like support for anamorphic lenses or other lens adapters to again, help you create professional videos on this thing.

Now while there are still settings and controls in this app, they have broken it down into smaller categories when you click that setting button, instead of having one big list like you do in Manual Camera.

So, for some things like resolution, obviously, it’s gonna make it easier for you to find, but for other things, you might need to dive into a couple of different sections there to find what you're looking for.

But it's definitely nowhere near as complicated, or as painful, as going through the menu system in Open Camera. Now one of the other areas’ Filmic Pro shines in comparison to the other apps, is the level of control you have in the look and feel of your shot.

Not only do you have great  control over the white balance, whether it's using one  of the built in pre-sets,  or whether you manually type it in,  or manually setting the kelvin  level for the white balance,  you also get access in  here to the tint as well, which is something that  neither of the other two had.

But you can also go beyond that in Filmic Pro, unlocking what they call the Cinematography Kit, which is an in-app purchase, and this will unlock far more control with different color profiles, and the ability to customize everything up manually.  You can event down to making individual RGB color level adjustments for your shot as well.

You also have the ability to set up, and save pre-sets, so that you're not having to manually set everything up every time you want to shoot.  You could have a pre-set saved for the front facing camera, setting the resolution, setting the frame rates, and everything you like for that, and also one for the rear facing camera, or one for the wide-angle camera if you’ve got one on your device.

Another stand out feature in Filmic Pro, is how fast it is for you to be able to lock down your exposure or your focus in this app.  You can literally just move the circle, or the square, to different points in your shot, to be able to lock down your exposure, or to lock down your focus.  Then if you want to dial it down even further, that’s where you can dive into the more manual controls.

But just having that  ability to be able to tap  on your screen and move the focus points,  and move the exposure point  to different places in  your scene without them  being linked together,  and without the need  to do it all manually,  with sliders and those sorts of things,  obviously you've got  those in there as well,  but this makes it really  quick to lock  down everything in your  shot, and press record,  and start capturing.

Now in regards to downsides in this app, there really aren't too many that I can think of, besides the fact that this is the most expensive app that we are listing in this article.  Definitely not a deal breaker, still amazing value, but it is the most expensive app.

So, with a segue like that, in regards to pricing, Filmic Pro is a onetime purchase of fourteen dollars, ninety-nine, and if you do want to unlock those extra color profiles and color control with that cinematography kit, that is an additional in-app purchase of thirteen dollars, ninety-nine.

filmic pro apk free download full version

So, all up though, still ridiculously cheap for what you're getting access to inside of this app.  Now I would say Filmic Pro is gonna be perfect for anyone, whether you are and absolute beginner, right through to an advanced user.

It's simple enough that  an absolute beginner  could jump in here, and obviously start to  lock-down some of these setting, and unlock  some if these advanced  features inside of the app  here as well, but it's  also really a no-brainier  for someone in that  intermediate through to advanced  pro features that are in here.

And obviously, if you’re someone who was using some of those supporting pieces of hardware, like the gimbals stabilizers, then it’s really gonna make this a no-brainier for you as well.  Now if I had to pick one winner out of these, my pick is gonna go to Filmic Pro.

Even though, Open Camera is an amazing offering, and is totally free, and Manual Camera, I probably love the interface a little bit more than I loves the interface inside of Filmic Pro.  But Filmic Pro really is the complete package.

Download From Playstore

(paid version)

I like the cinematography kit, I like that you get control over the color profiles, and could really dial everything in, so for me my go-to is Filmic Pro for this year as well.

the google camera latest version 6.2 | google camera app download

google camera app

Here the latest news from google, so let go through it…

However, from back few days Google Camera 6.2 has been very good news for Pixel devices brings not only dark mode, new transition animations, but also the android Q beta update.
google camera latest version

 google camera latest version

The update of the Google Camera 6.2 app is available to download for Pixel smartphones via Play Store, you can download the app from here.
Google has updated the stock camera app for Pixel smartphones after more than five months. After the update, the app version has been bumped to 6.2 and it includes bug fixes, performance improvements, and new features, so talk about it,

Basically, the prominent ones Google Camera App to Support Night Mode, Transition Effects, Cheetah Time Lapse Mode. The new Google Camera 6.2 update is now rolling out to Pixel users. However, Google Camera app to support night mode, transition effects, Cheetah Time Lapse mode. The updates are presently live in the Google Camera application variant 6.2, which is currently accessible to download as a steady build.

camera app for android

The Settings page of the Google Camera application currently includes a differentiating dark and dark grey tone – rather than the light grey and classic white example – when the dark mode is empowered from the framework settings.
So remember the setting of the google camera 6.2 app

To look at the dark UI design in the Settings area of the Google Camera application, simply pursue this way:

Settings  àà  System à  à Advanced  à à  Developer Alternatives à à  Night Mode  èè  Always On

When the Night Mode has been enacted, the camera application’s UI will consequently change to line up with the dark subject.
The code additionally specifies something many refer to as ‘Cheetah’, which is supposedly a period slip by mode that ‘Records videos at faster speeds’. The Google Camera application’s build 6.2 is currently being taken off by means of the Play Store so, if you want to download and use it from your phone right now so click on the below link and get your app.

What is mean by cheetah mode in google camera app ?

google camera with pixel phone
google pixel phone

Google has been working on a new Time Lapse mode called Cheetah where it records video at faster speeds, while complimenting the existing Slow Motion feature. Hints of the same are seen in the current APK as well. Google has also update mode transitions where switching from panorama to portrait to camera and video will show a zoom animation with icons overlaid on backgrounds.

Lastly, dark mode is becoming quite popular with a number of apps, and ahead of Android Q release, Google has added the mode to the camera app as well. While the UI was already dark, the Settings screen had a white background, and after activating the dark mode, the background becomes dark grey with blue accents for toggles and headers.

Google has pushed an update to its stock camera app that brings a host of new features. The new features of Google Camera v6.2 include dark mode, live mode transitions, and a new flash icon in selfie mode. References to a measuring tool as well as a Cheetah Time Lapse mode that will record videos faster have been found in the update package, though these features are yet to go official. The update is available for download at the moment from the Google Play store.

Ahead of the public launch of Android Q, which brings the much-awaited dark mode, Google has updated the camera app with a dark mode for the Settings screen. This will make the Settings screen easier on the eyes, especially when opened in lowlight conditions. The update also brings Live Transitions which when switching between Panorama, Portrait, Camera, or Video shows the live camera feed instead of displaying a black background.

However, icons for each mode are still overlaid. This change is also applicable to Night Sight and Slow Motion
The Google Camera app, when taking photos in HDR+ mode, gives users with two options – HDR+ on and HDR+ enhanced. Now, to signify the delay in capturing HDR+ enhanced pictures as intentional, the app overlays “Taking HDR+ enhanced photo” message. Other changes include a new flash icon overlay in the camera viewfinder to compliment “Screen will light up for flash” message for the front camera and the audio toggle in Panorama mode is now centred.

According to 9to5google found references to a new measuring mode in the Google camera app. This tool might bring the ability to capture elevations, distance, and lets users save the measurements directly to clipboard or as an image with a virtual ruler. Much like Google Lens, the new measure mode might be placed within the camera app and likely to be found in the ‘more settings’ option. However, it isn’t clear if the feature would require users to install the Measure app or will the functionality be integrated directly within the camera app.

The camera app V6.2 also includes hints about the Cheetah time-lapse mode which would allow users to record faster videos, the contributing to the existing ‘Slow Motion’ feature.

*note: - Requirements - The latest version of Google Camera only works on recent Nexus and Pixel devices on Android 7.1.1 and above. Some features are not available on all devices.
